deadlines

conferences

Conferences are a tour de force, when I say that I have been away for a conference, people usually tell me, "Oh wow, you have been to Valencia, did you see this? Did you go there?", my answer is usually displacing: "No, I did not!". In these occasions you stay inside the conference venue for most of the time, you cannot do the touristy things. During my staying in Valencia I had the rare chance to walk around the city for an afternoon (will soon post some photos). However, for what concerns the Valladolid conference, I basically had no time for anything. A consolation were the buildings where I stayed. In the photo you can see where the Valencia conference took place, it is an amazing construction, isn't it?

ella me habla
yo no la entiendo
pero sé que vive acerca de mí

tiene una cara roja,
la muerte,
una cara roja de sangre viva,
me sonrie
pero yo no sé lo que decirle

se mueve con migo,
la muerte,
como una sombra de aire y luz,
suave
puntual

me mira
yo no la veo pero la siento

speak to me

"Parlami che
io ascolto parlami che
mi metto seduta e ascolto
metto una mano sull'altra
parlami e ascolto."

Mariangela Gualtieri

speak to me
he said
I do not have anything to say
she said
tell me something
I want to hear your voice
and she spoke
and she did not say anything
she just produced sounds
he did not understand them
but he smiled
she did not smile
she left
leaving the room full of silence
