london by night
Bus 390 is a 24 hour service. It connects Archway Station to Notting Hill. It goes through King's Cross and Oxford Circus. It is a double-decker bus, it is red, it is usually punctual and cool. At night the bus gets almost full of night workers. At around 4.30/5.00 am there are Latinos, guys and girls from Eastern Europe and other non-English people (should I say immigrants? Clandestines? I am not too sure). There are also a couple of English people. Their eyes are wide open (not shut, open), they are used to waking up before dawn and they know exactly where and when they need to stop. The bus is quite fast at this time as the city is half asleep.
